ADI PRIMERS

Reloading equipment, methods, load data, powder and projectile information.

OK. I'm not disclosing the source, but I believe it to be reliable. (I guess it's possible I'm wrong but don't think so)

They were making them, but no longer have the equipment.

I understand it was a bussiness decision.
(not very smart IMO)

I'm confident that they could make them again but would require some investment in equipment and planing.

Actually I'm surprised too. You would think they would source them from a friendly. Say French, yanks poms.

Just who is it do you think owns ADI?

Likewise, they make one of the best steel frame 1911's money can buy.
Might not be finished particularly well but nobody else forges frames and slides from 5100 chrome steel.

Don't believe Thales would buy Chinese primers either, Taiwan, South Korea or the Phillipines - yeah, but I cant see buying anything defense wise from China getting approved and given the climate I wouldnt expect them to allow the export anyway.

$17/1000? I can't remember ever seeing primers at that price. The last time I bought small pistol primers (about 18 months ago) they were around $60/1000. Did you possibly mean $17/100?

Yeh, just before covid hit I paid $45/1000. I thought that was incredibly cheap at the time.

Yes that probability it $17/100

Thales do not own ADI.
ADI facilities are Govt owned and run by contracted defense suppliers.
There will be primers made here within next 5 years under Sovereign Capability planning.

You are of course correct. "contracted to operate"

Perhaps they own the name "ADI"?

Buy factory ammo and say three Hail Marys as penance for not being a prepper and having a ten year rolling supply which at this stage would now be a 7 year supply. Good Luck.

What are you chasing? Dealers down here have most primers and most ADI powders.

ADI uses primers from the US. A couple of friends I know inspected the plant before the fire and saw the packaging, spoke with many of the technicians as part of their job as Material Scientists at DSTO. Most of our primers come from Federal and CCI.

The bullets you can order online.
But for the powders you'll have to email or call every dealer within a couple hours drive.
I did message you last week but you haven't checked your messages yet.
By "7.62" do you mean .303/7.62x54/39 bullets?

Oops, my bad now $55 and climbing. Sh1t.

I haven't heard of any supply issues with LR or LRM primers.
I did suggest a while back that if I only used SR and didn't have SR primers I'd be modifying some of my brass to take LR primers just so I could shoot. Perhaps all the fox shooters and pistol shooters are doing that and buying up or the LR's :-)

No, I saw that, but if they're having issues it might be something that'll hit us too.

I think everyone around the world is short on primers or prices are high.

With some new production coming online in the USA that might help in the long term. Primers really shouldn't cost all that much.
