Wrong scope choice?

Post by TikkaT3.223 » 25 Aug 2014, 9:29 am

I got my gunsmith to put a scope on my tikka t3 varmint, and didnt notice til after it had been ordered in and paid for, that the elevation was only in 1/2 MOA adjustments, not 1/4 like i wanted. The only reason I'm being picky about this is because I want pinpoint accuracy with every shot.

I was thinking about swapping my vortex viper hslr 4-16x50 (1/2 MOA adjustments) out for the vortex viper pst 4-16x50 ffp (1/4 MOA adjustments).

Another problem for me is I really like the reticle in the hslr, but the clicks are a problem for me. :/

Any opinions, guys?

Hi Tikka...a bit confused here...that reticle doesn't need to be touched (if we're talking same reticle here)..Is that like the Horus Vision scopes? If that's the case, once sighted in, then mil your target and according to your dope chart, adjust the aimpoint with the reticle, no need to touch the targets..I agree though that 1/4 adjustments are much fines and precise. You would think that with all the precision stuff going around, calculators, lasers, etc..these guys would drop the coarser adjustments, huh?
