Well it proves to the rest of the world his word is no good via proof rather than just conjecture or hunch. When he says he wont invade any further countries like Moldova perhaps now NATO will get tough.

Except the rubel is the strongest is ever been. All the sanctions are not working. Russia is selling oil, gass and now wheat. And infact due to the price increases they are actually making more money now then ever before. They are holding referendum to amex Ukrain territories.
On the other hand uk pound has tanked to the lowest its been in decades. USA is guaranteed to have a recession in 2023, people are experiencing the biggest energy and food cost increases in decades. And house values are falling all the while it's being harder to get a loan.
But those people who believe covid in 2020 is responsible for the cost of fuel, the cost increases of food and thus the rampant inflation.... they also believe that Russia is losing or already lost the war

One word..... conscription.
Anyway all any of the world's largest companies if tomorrow the US restrictions are removed...or they won't get into trouble... all would jump at the opportunity.

Aircraft , ships , submarines are all detectable especially in large groups . Aussat covers the whole of the North , Pine Gap tracks submarines . US and five eyes intelligence covers the whole of the Pacific . Russia can not even maintain good logistics right next door so it would be a nightmare for China to protect supply lines over a minimum of 4500 ks. in length being attacked by Nuclear subs at sea , Collins class closer in and F35 fighters not to mention allies.
Then they would need to maintain an advance over land a minimum of 3000 ks within the country to get near the Eastern seaboard to control the country . Rommel could not maintain his advance in a little place like Libya that would be lost in the outback . They might gain a foothold in the North but just like Russia in Ukraine eventually run out of supplies . Invading a small place like Taiwan just across the straight is far easier than invading Australia and holding it .
Getting dragged into a war to protect Taiwan is another issue but in that case the US would be the lead and our role much smaller as far as troops on the ground goes .
Hosting US troops , ships , bombers and supplies etc . would be our more major role . China's economy is slowing badly now and major Western companies are leaving in increased numbers now . That will mean they will not have as much money to throw around in the future and their military power will decrease .
We should take heed of what has transpired in Ukraine and adjust our armaments and storage to hold far greater capacity for the weapons that are winning in Ukraine . Also as a priority we need to build a far larger arms industry that can supply more of our own needs and not rely on the US or UK as much .
Imagine 2 million Aussie Militia armed with Javelins , NLAWS and Stingers ambushing the Chinese in the outback at every turn .
