G'day guys,

Not really a shooting accessory but just sharing anyway.

You guys know Leatherman obviously... I've just ordered one of they "pocket" tools, the Leatherman Pirahna, which are new to me.

For the size of a small bottle opener, you get a multi-Open Wrench, 1/4" Hex Bit Driver, Bottle Opener, Scraper and multi-Box Wrench (Metric) all in a sliver of metal.

Pretty clever I reckon. Ordered one of ebay for $50 and just thought I'd share

Leatherman make some great tools.

I've got one of the original multi-tools from years and years ago and it's still as new.

They build these things to last.

Leatherman MUT series is worth a look too for us shooters... Lots of firearm specific tools on board.

Got me a Leatherman Brewzer swinging from my keyring as we speak

They do some really good single firearm ones too.

One specifically for bow, one for shotguns and one for AR-15's.

Not that they help much for us here, but great tools for US shooters who have more toys.

Ah yes, the good old days when there was just "the Leatherman".

Yeah, I've been looking for a Leatherman multi tool too and can't make up my mind. The prices for a MUT are steep.

Today I had to fit new boots on the Ute, slicks are no good in the wet grass & paddocks, so while in town I had a look in Bunnings for a Leatherman BUT there was a few other multi tools. Bunnings had a "Kincrome" for under $30 and one other for around the same price.

There was also a "CraftRight" 11 in 1 multi tool. Now, this ain't a Leatherman by any stretch of the imagination but for $10 bucks including a nylon pouch and 10 piece driver bits this'll do me. All I did was swap the 5mm screwdriver bit(already has a 5mm bit on tools) for a T25 bit to fit the Tikka stock and done.

I'm not comparing this to a Leatherman in quality etc but for the price and it has the usual tools, Pliers with S/S jaws, wire cutters etc and more importantly, the driver bits that I need and use, so I'll give this a go and see.

If I leave it sitting on a fence post in the paddock, I've lost little.

The prices for a MUT are steep.

When you consider how much use you get out of it though I don't think it works out that way.

I've had my original leatherman for 17 years and it's good as new.

And over the years has meant I haven't needed to buy various pliers, saws, knives, screwdrivers etc. etc.

I have to laugh looking at the MUT and reading it has a "Replaceable C4 Punch"

I'm sure that gets heaps of use...

I got the whole tool from the States awhile ago .
You can just buy the blade by itself if you want .
I'm a bit of a Multitool - Pocket knife enthusiast , so anything Blade - Sharp gets my attention
