Hey thanks for the information, very useful, I was planning for a load development from 45 to 48 grains of 2206H, so this confirms that is a reasonable range.
I note that GRT gives 18 joules at 46 grains, 20 joules at 48 grains, at 22 joules with your 2209 load.
It's not too bad compared to the 27 joules estimated for a full 30-06 58.5gr load of 2209 behind a 155g pill on my vintage 1903. We will see if the recoil feeling is in line with the software estimates
I do have the Hornady 174 FMJ but I keep them for the good 303 shooters! (- not insult for the M44, mine, shown above in the thread, actually has a pretty good trigger for a Mosin and shot better than my beautiful M91-30!).
