Shared gun Safe between WA licence holders

Hi All,

My other half has purchased a .22 and i was planning on putting it into the same safe as my .22WMR and shotgun. Is this allowed or do we need seperate safes? don't really want to go down the path of Co-ownership due to the additional cost. Is there going to be an issue? Happy to here your thoughts.

Unless you co-licence all the firearms to both of you you can't both have access to the same safe.

That's probably pretty easy for competition firearms, but what about hunting firearms? Don't both owners have to get property letters?

Yes probably, maybe, and yes re the letters on todays rules. Tomorrows rules, I have some "inside" comments that things may be different. Being in the industry I do get some odd snippets.

We know what the proposals are. The changes are either going to be all of the proposals or lesser versions. They are not going to be any tougher

So expect the worst (everything on the discussion paper) and be prepared

The advantage of co-ownership is less problems if something happens to one of you. The disadvantage may be if the new regs regarding a limit to the number of guns you can own comes into effect.
