Australia Day 2024

Post by Oldbloke » 26 Jan 2024, 8:18 am

Anyone raise the flag? I have one out the front yard.

Anyone celebrating? What are you doing?

I was going to a mates house for the traditional BBQ lunch. It's always a big day for him. Unfortunately he was admitted to hospital yesterday into palliative care.
Two mates are visiting after lunch.
I'll visit with another mate tomorrow. :(

Hunt safe. A bit more bang is better.

No I'm not. I was going to work today even but decided to work this weekend instead. Pretty much another day for me. Going to go and sight my rifle in for deer ammo, maybe.

Won't be raising the flag but I'll be filling the air with smoke from the grill at around 6pm...!

Personally, I've always thought of January 1st as when "Australia" proper, came into being.

I don't bother celebrating the establishment of a British penal colony.

hurt, and doing it anyway.
