information on win 473AA powder ??

Hi all hope everyone is doing well.............. Ok a mates dad gave me 2 lbs of win 473 AA ball powder ,information is scarce ,he was using between 22.5gr and 25gr with 11/8 loads ,any have any experience with this powder ...thanks

My 1976 Winchester Load Data book lists a max of 24.0 for 1 1/8 for 473AA, all loads regardless of primer or wad used come in at 9200 LUP or less. the 9200 LUP load was Fed 209 primer with WAA12 wads for 1200 fps using Winchester compression formed cases. There is 1 1/4 load listed for this powder at 25.0g with WW209 primers and WAA12 wads for 1150 fps at 10300 LUP.

These are milder field and trap loads, to keep patterns good. Heavy 1 1/8 Field loads from 27.0 and 28.0g loads for 1330 fps are giving 10500 LUP using Win and cci primers

Shotgun for me , and yes pistol as well ,just ran it through my MEC reloader with powder bush number 30 metered great ,dropped 20 loads all consistent at 22.5grs....

PS: That 1 1/4 load using Fed 209 is listed as 10500 LUP, using the same case and wad so Federal primers will give slight pressure increases

Went to the MEC web site it has no listing for my powder ?? do they even make it any more ?

I know why it was discontinued in 2016 !
