Scope ring install too close or ok?

Post by Ramin474 » 29 Apr 2024, 7:44 pm

Hi all. Just installed my scope, the rear ring is very close to the middle of the scope, it isn’t touching but I’d say it’s 1mm gap, is this too close? The eye relief is just perfect and if I move it forward it’ll force me to stick my neck more forward and it’s uncomfortable, any suggestions would be appreciated. Cheers

I have a couple of hunting scopes that are similar and have had no issues with them. Cannot comment on benchrest accuracy though, as I have no need for that.

it's fine . having good eye relief/ sight picture is important for good shooting . make your rifle "fit" you and you'll be a more natural shooter

Just a quick comment. Basically all OK, But I would make sure there is a few thou clearance from the ring to the scope it self.

Yeah there is basically around 1 to 1.5mm to the middle of the scope clearance, hope that’s enough

Oops, missed that in your text, but was a bit hard to see for sure in the pics. Any clearance is good.
