what do you fellas reckon about the state of the world

Post by mickb » 08 Jul 2024, 1:10 pm

My tin foil hat is pretty tight these days, funnily when i was a serving soldier I didnt wear one, everything seemed straight down the line to me. In fact I thought back in the 90's the world was sorting itself pretty well. apartheid had folded, the USSR collapsed and we got DVD's, what more could a hopeful generation need. :)

The last 5-6 years though starting with LGBTQ and people making up genders soured the taste a bit. Then Covid and the ukraine war and to me it doesnt matter whether you are in the pro-covid lockdown camp or the whacko ultra conspiracy UFO camp, one thing we can all agree on is inflation skyrocketed the cost of living and one sector of business pretty much doubled their net worth. Inflation seems to the great unifier to this debate. Our kids and grandkids etc will really struggle to buy real estate now.

Yes. I would have to agree. I don't have any media accounts at all. I really don't watch the news either. At my age and life experiences, I tend to keep as much to mysef as possible. The priorites in my existence are family.

It's one massive government / economy driven planet rape fest.

Fancy talking going clean and green while still pushing for population growth... it's a f***ing catastrophe.

The usual (historical) solution to "waaay too many people" is a major war/conflict.
That fixes it real quick.

I think we have entered a clown world. For 4 years I've been told by the mainstream press that Biden has all his marbles.

The debate showed he's not firing on all cylinders. Yet social media has been saying what I see, so who has been running the country on his behalf for 4 years.

I saw the press telling me for 2 years covoid was the black plague and yet people I spoke to said it like a mild flu and I've had it too but it was worth laying to waste a society for generations to come.

Same with global warming , climate change, stop oil, extinction rebellion, Russia, Iran, China, diversity and inclusion, the voice, blah , blah blah.

The only thing you have to worry about is you, your family and if you believe in a higher spirit so be it.

Mate I tend to agree with the Covid thing being the dust had settled and its done its rounds a couple dozen times and i still dont know anyone unvacced who died from it 'personally' and I know a lot of unvacced people, two minesites I worked at the last 3-4 years were a majority who refused to get it.
Yet I know a sh**t tin of people injured and I mean srsly buggared up by the vaccines 'personally'

Generally appears either to be stories of heart issues or unregulated pulse and blood pressure with the worst being a school chum of mine who is about to lose his building business as he keeps fainting.

When key resources become scarce ( due to over population) there will be a major war. Perhaps before that.

With the birth rate what it is, I think population will peak and decline.

As Elon Musk pointed out we are far from being overpopulated and actually with more people we've had more resources and more people solving problems.

What do I think about the state of the world?

Oh my what an opportunity for a rant, thank you.

One of the great things about getting older is you start to see certain patterns unfold and how the world really is. What I know is to some degree we are farked. One can look at the data and it backs me up, half of the population is dumb and a significant portion are lazy and useless. These days I focus on keeping a smaller but smart and useful group of people around me.

Covid firmly taught me how many people out there are just sheep who listen and do what they are told by the media & government and they have no capacity for rational thought or reason. I knew these people were around but Covid really exposed who people are and are not and that's a good thing.

We also have many things totally out of whack and I think it's all unfolding right now in a great turning of society. It was building before Covid, you could see it, but Covid really ripped the band aid off. Young people can't have kids with the housing issues, government has jammed up the works by slowing down business with bureaucracy and taxes, illegal immigration and immigration itself is totally out of control, crime from these people is out of control, inflation is not stopping anytime soon and debt is getting worse. We have a lot of politicians these past few years that have been exposed as evil people undermining the country but yet foolish sheep keep electing the destroyers.

I could go on and on, but the other side of it is we are living in an advanced technical age. In many ways things have never been easier or better, especially if you are willing to work and learn. I have been partaking in a new side business lately and belong to a few online groups that discuss this certain business and I don't have much worries about the competition because most people are quitters, lazy, dumb and short sighted. I don't say that to be mean, just that the harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.

So despite the bad stuff anyone has tons of opportunity to work on themselves, learn new skills, develop different income streams from working online, build their physical fitness, etc. The internet has made it possible for the transfer worldwide of information in an instant, take advantage of that to make your life better.

in my opinion crap like that has warped our society , and turned a lot of younger generations into easily offended , self important , entitled trolls who think in their own heads that if they've got some sort of moral high ground, they can just rage and vilify others . no empathy or respect for others in a supposedly democratic free society where freedom of speech is at risk if you don't follow the social status quo . no , not the old british rock band.....

political corruption and social injustice is not new , i read a lot of history and if anything it was worse around WW1 . in this modern world you have to share it with boys that want to be girls, and girls that want to be boys , and abdul next door who prays five times a day . now i don't understand these characters , but if they live peaceably and have respect for others then i don't have a problem .except for greens voters , their beyond help some of them

i do however understand why some people move waaay out from major cities however :D

I'm with bigpete.

I'm a child of the 60s, I see everything from that decade going downhill.

True, technology has made a lot of things easier.
But that tech merely makes us more dependent on those who provide and control it.
One prime example, the drive to remove cash.

The fact remains though, Homo Sapiens is a feudal creature, always has been, always will be, it's in our DNA.

I agree with Churchill

"The Story of the human race is War. Except for brief and precarious interludes, there has never been peace in the world; and before history began, murderous strife was universal and unending.'"

The one coming late this year, perhaps early next will be catastrophic.
I don't see us as a military target, but our near total dependence on imported manufactured goods, and the one that will truly bring us to heel, ~90% of our liquid fuels is our biggest weak point.

The ironic part is that we let ourselves be duped by high volume low price crap from the lowest overseas bidder, who just happens to be the one who'll turn off the taps.

The world itself, is a truly amazing place.

One positive I thought would happen during the scamdemic was Australia would start producing again because in an instant supply lines could be shutoff. But alas that did not happen. We are a rather low tech nation who make bugger all. I hate how idiots say we are "the lucky country" when all I see is no production, no freedom, stupid gun laws and tyranny. Australia in 2024 is a hell hole.

All the individual can do is amass as much supplies as they think they need for themselves and their family to survive the coming economic crash.

Good lord this sounds like Tucker Carlsons freedom Tour speech last week in Melbourne. It was his observation of what has happened around the world.

I am much like Tucker, my view of the world and my opinions have evolved substantially in the last 10 years as new information has come to light. I would speculate for both of us we probably thought there were some folks in government that were good and decent but the vast majority have been shown to be rotten to the core and everyone seems more interested in tearing everything down and leaving no western civilization behind.

I haven't watched that speech yet so I will have to check it out.

Australia in 2024 is a hell hole.

All the individual can do is amass as much supplies as they think they need for themselves and their family to survive the coming economic crash.

I speculate next time I visit Australia I will probably see some stuff I will not be thrilled about.

Yes, it's the worst hell hole there is.
Except for every other hell hole on the planet.
Courage is knowing it might
hurt, and doing it anyway.
Stupidity is the same
.
And that's why life is hard
