Winchester 1902 & DIY oversize bolt handle

nice little baby single shot
the only problem was the bolt handle is too short and too small, hard to cycle the bolt
so I made a oversize bolt handle put on the original one, now it operates very smooth and easy

considering to DIY a peep sight for it but don't know how, will some one kindly share some ideas?

I just work the 1902 bolt with my thumb. Push it up and back with the ball of ones thumb. I thought thats how it was designed to work.

finally finish the DIY, bolt handle is easy to use and match the rifle quite well (not too big)

Thats an interesting mod...

My dad had a little 02 action and barrel lying around when i was a teenager in the early 1980's..

I took it to school and used it as my yearly woodwork/metalwork project..

Red cedar was used to make the stock and I made a butt plate and trigger guard as well....wet and dry to clean it all back to smooth metal and blued it all...

I already got a Anshutz 22 for my 14th birthday so I used this little gun with ratshot for shooting sparrows..

These days i wouldnt recommend sending your teenager to school with a functioning firearm..
