Even $78 is a bit much IMO.

If I think a shop is ripping me of, I just walk out and either look elsewhere or wait.

Wasn't there meant to be an announcement at the shot show?

$220 is still 300% too high for primers, long way to go yet. Im betting they will never drop below double the old price. The price of every day items has doubled since covid so $120-150 for primers probably works out...

Grab a receipt, name and shame them. :)
If they get supply, many just sell to their regulars or under the counter\ side for inflated prices.

I won't be getting a receipt as I have more than I can use .

Such a shame people are willing to pay those prices.
If everyone refused to buy overpriced things, prices would drop dramatically.

I call it "voting with your wallet"

The manufacturers and suppliers are running out of excuses, its clearly nothing but price gouging.

Pre covid I paid $45 / 1000
Still got plenty.
They need to come down a loooong way before I buy more.

Edit: it will be interesting how far they come down.
This happens every 6-7 years, but this is the worst I recall. I'm hoping they will get down to about $100/1000.

Well sounds like at least ADI is working on bringing the pistol and shotgun powders into production, so hopefully there will be good news soon.

And that’s with everything in our country. Local big business and corporate are screwing us . Lots of imported items are now super expensive because the cost of shipping containers into the country is 4 times what it used to be. I’ve heard this from multiple sources. Guess who owns the bulk of the container ships in the world, china. As a country we import more than exports. So shipping to Australia isn’t really profitable. When truckies do an interstate run they get a return load otherwise they’re running at a loss . International shipping is no different. A lot of people think conspiracies are behind everything these days. It’s much simpler, money

Imagine the tonnage that they will have to put into Aussie gun shops to satiate the demand.

Last time I bought primers was BLM moment in time I could see that sparking things in the US and hence here so I stocked up. The primers I bought were all the high end type Gold medal Match and BR4 type stuff they were about $60-$70 range per 10000 at the time. I agree we will never see those prices again unless there are some other economic factors bugger the world up. Yes very few reload in any real quantities really only professional and target shooters that shoot every week.
