ADI hand loading guide version 6

Just a heads up for anyone who uses the ADI information. I've just picked up the latest edition of the ADI hand loading guide, version 6.

Has a load data for a few hundred additional loads not currently on the website.

Awesome,

There are a few loads missing in the current one, like they have load data for 180gr pill and 190gr pill, but not for 185gr and so on...

Hopefully this will fill in a few blanks for my reloading. :D

You shooting 30cal? I had the same issue with a few gaps in my .308 win loads.

I have been gifted some W785 and IMR 8431 powder!!
Does anyone have load data for Howa 1500 in .22-250 in 50-55gn sps !
It’s only center fire I own and would love the powder not to go to waste!

Both powders are not suitable for the 250 the imr 8431 is slower than 2209 and the 785 is more for mag rifle cases and heavier pills in 30 06 .

Do you mean IMR4831?

As Deye243 already points out, both are very slow magnum powders.
The only .22-250 load data I can find are in Nick Harvey's First Edition manual and only for 70gn bullets. It will work with lighter bullets but I would think it would be less than optimal, you'd have to do your own experimenting. I would think if you have a 26" barrel that would help to burn the powder as well.
35gn up to 39gn of IMR4831 making 2950fps to 3280fps,
40gn up to 42gn of W785 making 3142fps to 3240fps.

Thanks but i am guessing seeing as my rifle is 20 years old HOWA 1500 22-250 it would likely be a 1-12 or1-14 twist and not viable for heavier projectiles anyway.. Unless anyone knows any different cheers>

Stability is determined by bullet length, not weight. Speer do a 70gn flat-base soft-point specifically made for 14"-twist rates in the .22-250.

Extra speed helps with stability just as air temp and can make quite a difference.
