Seen a bloke shooting at 50 yards at the range. Difference from resting on forend or barrel was about 5" IIRC. Very expensive Tikka too with about $700 scope. Too good a set up for him.

As long as you've tested it I guess. When I did that with the Henry .22 lever-action it was something like a foot high at 25m from memory. I put a bipod on one of my 8x57mm Portuguese Mausers years ago and it shot way off as well.

I wouldn't expect to see 300mm difference at 25m from a milsurp rifle, but I would expect it to be several inches. The closer to the magazine you support the rifle the less the effect will be, but when you get right out near the muzzle the effect will be significant.
