Its no secret that Ruger make a great rifle in the M77 series and I've been a fan for years as they are generally good shooters, lots of steel and can handle pretty much anything you throw at them. What I don't like is the weight, they are a bit chubby in the hand with the bottom metal/trigger guard and tupperware stocks weighing a fair bit more than most other rifle. Anyway I lucked onto a Ruger Gunsite scout stock with the Nylon bottom metal set up that takes the AICS style mags. End result the rifle dropped 300gm in weight and tips the scales at 6lbs 12oz.
