Would being a primary producer be considered as a valid reason?

No, centre fire semi's are category D and are only available for Commonwealth or State Government purposes.

I think Macca's referring to rimfires.... generally cat C was created for primary producers, farmers who have a 'need' for such a 22. If you're on the land you can apply, just need to demonstrate a cat A or B is inadequate for the purpose....

If they could justify a need, I'm pretty sure farmers can apply, if it doesnt explicitly state PP, its an application to the Chief Commish(/Minister)....

Landowners and PP can have Cat D in QLD if they have severe feral problems, i forgot to mention landowners.

The gun grabbers are sympathetic towards farmers , i have found none that object to them having semi autos when the situation is explained,this is probably a good place to start, they don't have much sympathy for ordinary people to have Cat D so best to stick to mentioning farmers etc in overturning this law.

I think it's absurd that a pump action rifle is allowed yet a pump action shotgun is not.

Sited he was getting recoil shy from lotsa shooting and shoulder injury got a doctor letter to quote the same, got his browning semi auto 12 gauge.

I had (rather, someone else had into me) a pretty big car accident a few years ago and did a real number on my shoulder.

It's just a matter of convincing them the disability is sufficient. Not just a boo-boo as an excuse for one.
