Mate I got heaps of great advice from Youtube. I'd never have ever thought I could deep bore a piece of 4140, make, ream and rifle my own barrels with a button, chamber and thread anything I want, make springs, .
I've got a dual trade and engineering background and it's taken me to other countries, but I'm not a machinist and had to teach myself. Unlike an internet forum where fakes can hide, someone posting up videos of how to do something and proving it by hanging their arses out are priceless. Some of these guys put up procedures and advice that's easily proven, and it costs me nothing.
Did you mention your PooTube channel name as I don't know if I have seen it or not.
You can learn near anything from that place but of course have to sift through lots of crap to find the good s**t.
I tried, but can't watch that "Edge of the Outback bloke", something about the arrogance in his voice, whether he means it or not. He stated in one that I watched that he gets criticized about how much he spends on the gear like thermals and such.
"I don't drink drink or smoke", I thought he was going to end with "I don't touch girls"
He sounds like those born again christians that have to try and convert everyone else after seeing the light.
Then I notice he can't even shoot with his eyes open and I thought we all did that as the first marksmanship training, especially the hunter that needs good target acquisition.
