So illegal hunting and stray bullets are going to he fixed by a buffer zone.

In the last decade 1km from the house
1. Africans spray some unit at the end of the street over a drug deal
2. Turks shoot dead islander over drug deal payback
3. Lebbos kill African for paybackas his brother did a hit in sydney

No amount of laws is going to fix murder.

Tough call that one. Old mate is just hoping for a solution to what is a real problem, but you can't fix stupid.
The only way hunters will stop making mistakes is when there's no hunters anymore.
And the only way to try and curb poachers and illegal shooter retards is to make it so they can't ever hold a rifle again.

I think I might be with you there mate but kids IMO, learn their behaviour from the example set by their parents. Therefore, it follows that parents need educating and how politically unpalatable is that!? Sorry, didn't set out to be such a drag but I've been wrong before.
You're dead right about bans though.

Well it's a huge deal in the bush, whether it's considered by those not copping it or not as even something they care about.
But understandably, if you are from another world and don't cop it, I can understand that it's something that a lot of people don't see how this is going to bring them all undone. Or help bring it about.

I dropped in to help some guys on the river with some issues they are having welding higher quality steels on a piece of harvesting equipment. The conversation turned to Easter and the school holidays, and the underlying sentiment was that the joint was going to be descended upon by all the city shooters again and they were nervous about what was going to occur.
So many people, if not most, feel that way now. The local police are besieged by phone calls about interlopers from elsewhere shooting off roads, through fences, and trespassing. Like it or not, this constant reporting of this behaviour doesn't just sit in a country cop shop, it's all going to the people in the cities who are sick of it and are formulating the supposed coming "solutions".

I have 3 mates of mine and their families coming out for Easter, staying at a hunters' hut on a creek I made for this type of thing, and I'm grateful that some people can share what I have and the kids will absolutely love the big stags and bucks chasing the ladies around. The upside is, they will be acting security for me for the inevitable convoy of buggies patrolling the local roads full of guns, grog and disrespect for the people who do the right thing.

Yeah, this will have the result of more people taking up the past-time of shooting and hunting, and they will be good ambassadors of this.

But it won't stop the pretenders that will fool their way in, nor will it curb the ever-increasing examples of society that fool their way into getting a firearms licence and think they can do whatever they like.
Punishment actually being undertaken now, using the ample laws already in place will positively change this. Maybe allowing the people suffering from the actions of these selfish narcissists to make it even more a risk to offend against them would help too.
