If the Police stop this tomorrow, they have lost all respect from us, forever.
As it is, the way they disrespect us outside of town, ignore the crime we face all the time and yet STILL expect to be able to roam around on weekends using their (Edit to keep me out of trouble) firearms in the bush shooting pigs whilst hammering the rest of us, means respect is only just hanging by a thread.

that dawn service sounds awesome mate. my great uncle was in qld lighthorse, didn't see any action as he got tuberculosis in Egypt and was shipped home to die from it keep us updated mate . i saw the anzac day march in tenterfeild years ago , and it's quite a different experience to brisbane . i also found the tenterfeild cops very reasonable fellas . the couple i encountered seemed to grasp the concept of "community policing" rather than by the book type of mentality .

If/when I'm El Presidente this is exactly what will be enacted.
ALL the current law enforcement will be sacked and offered, along with any other community members, the chance to be elected on their efforts towards community good, rather than the service of their political puppet masters.

Well the law does not state what a lawful excuse is. But historical precedence would set the common law that it would have to be lawful. Seeing as it has been done for like 100 years. The outrage of the community would be huge if people were charged for participating in the parade.
This is not you and me rocking up with our 303s. It is an organised historical club.

wanneroo wrote:One of the big problems with Australia and has been for decades is the police are involved in politics, heavily and have no accountability to the public.
The police should have checks and balances and the police needs to be broken up from the state level and power put back in local hands.
alexjones wrote:^ America has it better in regards to their police. They have state police, city police and sheriff departments. Not to mention all types of federal police.
Australia just has state(or territory police) and federal.
Each council area should have a sheriffs department that is voted in by the people that enforces the law in that area. Then state police to patrol highways and provide specialist departments to the sheriff departments.
That is the best way to avoid centralised overreach.

Yes, that is pretty much the way it works here.
If we don't like the sheriff, we vote him out.
If we don't like the local chief of police, you can go to the city council and put pressure on them to fire him.
The State Police deal with major crimes and state and federal highways.
In Australia there is no accountability at all, just big level bureaucracies.
alexjones wrote:The current president of the USA refers to these scumbags as the “deep state”.
Unelected bureaucrats who control everything. Public servants who do what they like. No matter what party is in control and what policy they implement its the deep state that do the actual day to day of policy implementation. The public servants do what they like.
The most powerful person in QLD is not the elected premier but the police commissioner. An unelected scumbag.

He is the President of the USA and it is not his duty to care one iota about how his policies might affect Australia.
His number one duty is to improve the well-being of his united states and in the mean-time, stick one up the CCP whose intent seems to be to gain a world-wide market for their products, the designs of which are often "stolen" from "the west", or marketed at manifestly unrealistic prices.
A simple example - Brno/Norinco: there are many more.
And now, from another thread, Meopta are (apparently) going to move their production to China. Oh, joy - now the prices will come down. Yeh, right; good luck with that.
