I have discovered if I remove the inner lining on the safe door I can fit 3 more rifles in that safe! Neat!

Ha . Clever use of that additional space needed to force the door closed.

I don’t have a lip on the door to rest the butt on. But a rubber bungee could still work.

Dammit. Now I have another genuine need.

Some safes have that (sort of) feature as standard.
Lokkaway safes have this feature, two of mine here do and they are great, they keep your scoped firearms from clashing with one another and damaging themselves upon opening the door. It just keeps them apart.

Thos of you who are handy could easily make one up, I'm sure.

An idea of a home-made door rack, that I did when I made a safe myself to get more room.
There's no guns in this one, it will only fit 3 because I don't need to use it, but it will easily fit guns with 28" barrels. Top of safe is an inner ammo/bolt cupboard. Walls are 6mm checkerplate, door locks on 4 20mm CroMo bars via a handle out front.

Why not just get another safe or two,,,, you cheap skates.
