Well, I have a right to be. And its wearing a bit thin. He has been pushing that line of me promoting the protection of dogs since I posted the link to the VIC GOVERNMENT ANNOUNCEMENT.

NEVER said I agreed with it. But Wapiti is too busy jumping to conclusions and making assumptions.

Dingos/Wild dogs are protected in Vic on public land/state forests... You can still shoot them on private land with the exception of the Western part of the state where they have a protection zone near Little Desert...

If this guy is using thermal at night then he's either on private land and is allowed to shoot them or is breaking the law by using thermal devices after dark. (unless he's in the protection zone)

If you guys are interested in more Thylacine stories I'd recommend:

Looking at more videos from Thylacone Awarness Group (the same channel as this thermal footage). Neil calls and interviews people who claim to have a sighting and goes over the encounter with them. Most people sound credible with a handful of bullshitters, I really enjoy when he talks to people in their 80's who lived in Tassie and knew parents and grandparents that had seen or interacted with live ones.

There is another channel called Tantanoola Tigers where the host Jamie looks through different archives and digs up newspaper encounters from cross the country and has lots of interesting stuff.

https://www.youtube.com/@TantanoolaTigers

Ambiguous World is another channel using thermal footage to find them.

https://www.youtube.com/@ambiguousworld

Lastly, there was a similar Black Panther Vic group and a podcast called 'Hidden Panther' that is done very well. If you're into spooky cryptozoology the podcast is 10/10

The animal itself is there for all to see in its glass case. At the Tantanoola Tiger Hotel.
It is the "Tantanoola Tiger" (as it was named back in the day when it was killing sheep in the area)
After it was eventually shot, it was identified as an Assyrian Wolf that was believed to have been in a crate on a sailing ship that was subsequently ship wrecked off the coast.
And managed to swim ashore, and started killing and eating sheep throughout the district of Tantanoola in Sth East of South Australia.

May want to read a little more on that. I believe a lot of the sheep killings were done by a disgruntled ex employee

Nah mate, you just won't let it go. Any excuse to post a link to it... if you don't like me bringing it up, pull your self righteous head in. You have no idea outside your loungeroom what goes on for us on the land, but you love to preach.
And assumptions? What are you dribbling about now? That you are a fake?

And mate, I hope your 18 hours a day posting here is spent outside a little. You need to get your vitamin D, you know.

Big Rich, i appreciate that.
I'm just putting forward views from someone who sees things from another angle, I make 100% of my income from the land, and live and interact with people just the same. Most of my peers haven't the slightest interest in guns other than they need them to solve problems with.
If people haven't seen that I sympathise and support anyone from anywhere else in hunting and shooting, then they're just reading what their bias is telling them.
All my opinions are from my own experience, out here outside all day, using stuff because I'm interested, whether I've screwed something up or succeeded. Not Google.
People can take my opinions how they want, I'm not here for likes. I'm interested in this stuff.
Maybe, some people will get that there is a different angle out here and might just understand it more from this side. If not, too bad.

What I also learn from being here the most is why so many of my farming mates distrust and feel a world away from city shooters.
Most of you are great guys, just with different opinions. But some are here for other reasons.

no dramas mate i'm all for people expressing themselves with different perspectives/point of view . i appreciate members who share , even if i don't agree, and we never stop learning if we keep a open mind. that's the whole point of forums . not trying to be smart , but you do seem a little harsh on OB at times . the guys been here for years and been a regular contributor to the forum . don't want to sound like a soft c*ck hippy either, but it'd be good if we can just agree to disagree .

Both actually, but they never knew or found out that old mate was doing what he was,, and they didn't find his camp site till after the dog was shot.

Also I'll add here,, someone put up a link that discusses and has an interview with some guy who saw a Tantanoola Tiger (I think it said in the 80"s) in Victoria.

That interview and article has NOTHING to do with the original "Tantanoola Tiger" (the Assyrian Wolf) which was in Tantanoola, Sth Aust.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
And,,,,It's been proven,,,,, the most trustworthy females in my entire life were all canines.

Damm they’re everywhere.

It’s the tail that gets me. Nothing else on four legs has a tail like a kangaroo. No fox, no dog.
