So I applied for a PTA and their website changed, they now say Shooting on Rural lands, Target and Other
if you select Target then they issue with ONLY at approved ranges, they will ask you for the ranges.
if you select Shooting on rural land they will ask you for the property details inc land size etc and a written permission to shoot there and you provide all that thats the only place you can shoot
if you select other you get 500 characters to define why you need it
I think QLD is getting worse and weapons licensing is subtle making it harder, I did have one PTA with them asking for more info, because I wanted to hunt with this rifle I told them I can't give you written notice from the owner of the land because I book my hunts online and I shoot in NSW state forests for which I have a R license and I only get the written notice once I book, for the dates that I'm booking/allowed
they then refused my PTA under the pretence of not providing letters from and owners, so technically speaking getting a PTA for a rifle used for hunting is not very easy it seems unless you want to be restricted to a single property etc.
