Interstate gun transfer

Didnt know where to put this...

So what are dealers charging to transfer and post a handgun from interstate these days..?(Vic to QLD)

Fella selling the gun says $150 his end..is that about right..?

Then i think its around $80 for the dealer my end plus the PTA at $45..

So that makes a $450 used gun come in at $725.....

Seems you really have to get the gun at a great price or just not be able to find it elsewhere to makeit worthwhile..

also 18 days for PTA at the moment..whats going on at QLD WLB...?

I've bought three pistols from NSW and four from Qld over the last six months from four different people. The Model 19 including the accoutrements (holster, speedloaders, pouches and OEM grip) was $50 postage from NSW to Vic. A pair of Single Action Army revolvers were less than $50 postage for both from NSW to Vic. Three 1858 cap and ball revolvers were $60 I think from Brisbane to Vic. The sellers of these five revolvers didn't actually quote me postage, they threw it into the deal and I can't recall what the postage costs were on the boxes. The Hi Power came from Cleaver and was $50 postage. Permits here are $58 and my dealer generally adds $15 to $25 to process them.

Permits down here are currently 15 to 19 days. New licences are taking eight weeks right now.

I can't run the permits for the SAA's until September 5, and I want to leave for Qld on September 24 for the Chisholm Trail so it's going to be very close I think.

Cheers mate I rang around and compared a few shops..the problem also is this end there is only one really old bloke within 150Kms that does Cat H out of his home and he is pretty damn weird...wouldnt give me his dealer licence number for a PTA and carryed on for 30 minutes on the phone with gibberish when all i wanted was a quote and his permission to handle the gun transfer...When I inquired about purchasing my Black mamba through him 6 months ago he tried to tell me that because it looked "tactical" that WLB would reject my PTA...when I told him he was perfectly legal and available elsewhere he told me he has 5 licences and been doing it for 50 years and knows more then me...also when you google his business name a link for a sex toy shop comes up...(S@B Gun Dealers, Innisfail Qld)...just all round weird sh!t..!

I have a couple of local dealers I have used in the past a dozen times for cat A/B transfers and never had a single issue..

I' think I'll give this a miss .
