They are nice rifles; A lot of them never really saw much service. There used to be an abundance of stock kits on the market going back a number of years for whatever reason which was good at the time because you could buy a nice stock to replace the shagged one that came with your $400 RC rifle.

bnz over 4 is a well known marking alternative to the 2 digit year 44, mostly on Gusen rifles for the SS contract either with or without the single rune mark.
