It can be done, but it's not easy. Stocks were hand-fitted to the actions, then numbered to the action also. It's important to get the correct fit at the "draws" which takes most of the recoil force, and around the trigger guard so that the 2-stage trigger pulls properly. You'll need a few basic woodworking tools to do it properly.
Stock sets for the early SMLE's like yours do occasionally appear on eBay or dealers like Southern Cross Militaria, but are rare. They have a slightly different shape to the later WW2-vintage SMLE's. You'll also need a few parts like a nosecap, spring plunger and probably a barrel band.
Prestigious Wood Stocks in the US make new ones, for about $500 without the parts.
All up it'll cost many hundreds, and at the end of the day it won't be an all-matching numbers rifle.
