Feral pig control methods

Some people may find this interesting, it's links sent to me from LPA because of our involvement and membership.

There's some interesting info in here about methods, calibres and ethics that I completely agree with that might enlighten some.
There are some great topics and links to further information and even legislative requirements, and if this topic interests you and you are personally affected, it's an interesting rabbit hole to look into.

Some of you might get something from it, at least, an insight into the info people on the land follow. Maybe some reading if you can't get into the bush this weekend.

Remember the start of the national feral.pig action plan? I think it was a 10 years plan. Correct me if I’m wrong. But half way thru this plan it seems the reports of numbers is out of control and a lot more pigs about than there was before the plan started … it’s great to have a plan but perhaps there’s just not enough money/resources available to carry out the plan effectively. ESP with good seasons they seem to b breeding up faster than anyone can reduce them

 It's fairly easy for their numbers to go sky high, especially in good seasons.
The average number of piglets per litter is 10-14
Multiply that by say just 150 sows (which can be within the bounds of any average sized acreage properties) = 1,800 median figure.
I do not fear death itself... Only its inopportune timing!
And,,,,It's been proven,,,,, the most trustworthy females in my entire life were all canines.

It is very interesting where they recommend a power value in ft-lbs of 243 Winchester and up, and conditions where shotguns and ranges are noted for animal welfare reasons. Which I agree with completely.
WE have a very active council which is doing all it can, having appointed special feral animal control programs and managers for it, and from what I have seen they are very experienced country folk. I always have found them personally interested in people's specific issues out here.

Unfortunately when it comes to the politicians, talk can be very cheap.
"We're going to build 2 million new homes so vote for us, suckers" then do absolutely nothing to support small business that makes them, or subsidise them to train new apprentices adequately, or try and rebuild the industries that supply housing materials like steel, timber, brick and cement. Instead, they fill the country with chinese rubbish and drive the energy prices to ruin everything but governmment politics subsidised by overseas monsters.

What's that got to do with feral pigs? Well all the recommendations, drafts, regulations and potential from the people is ignored after the headlines and the agenda-driven media stories, right?
