Politics!

Has everyone on here emailed, called and set up meetings with their local state and federal MP to voice their disgust against tyrannical changes to firearms laws?

I have! I suggest you be proactive and do the same. Something is better than nothing.

I don't reckon you'll get too much response here Alex.
Just look at the other threads for an explanation and the kind of people that are your peers. They will attack one another, and hang sh*t on orgs that are trying to help them. They are the fly-by-nighters.
They're busy buying golf clubs. That is, if the state governments don't turn the greens into multi-rise nests for the labor voting immigration.

Buying golf clubs (the whacking kind) ????

Surely they should be banned. > Dangerous Weapons they are.

i've emailed my local MP twice . my first was barely a hour before bondi happened . what were the bloody odds hey . my second was yesterday afternoon . i've received no response back . wasn't expecting to receive one either , or my invitation to meet to discuss things and enlighten my local MP about firearms and hunting . but if every gun owner in the electorate emailed this MP , the numbers would be too many to ignore. but in true labor fashion it would probably receive the response of "there's too many gun owners in my electorate...."

Got up this morning to check emails and there's maybe 8 or so overnight from firearms stores and organisations calling for help -
For shooters to email their local members to let them know it's been inaction of weak government that this has occurred - not good contributing Australians.
Pretty simple.

It's a fact that any sport, but especially shooting in urban circles, that to many shooting is just a "do it till I get bored" fly-by-night" activity.
They're the ones who, if this happens will just do something else.
Unlike real sports where it takes years of training, pumping iron, nutrition in active sports.
This is what we see here all the time.
It's those of us that have a business and a lifetime of achievements from using firearms that are the losers here.

I just hope that these people will see its not just a few of us looking like fools trying to get people to, instead of spending 2 minutes bagging out fellow gun owners, they give that a break and write a simple email to their political representatives to voice disapproval of further smokescreens and trojan horses.
You now see the whole firearms industry asking, begging you all help and contribute for the rest of us, because are all in this together.

sent another email to my local MP , signed 2 more petitions , including albo resigns . might email QLD premier next . there's over 280 thousand firearm owners in QLD alone i believe . if we all get in on the act it'll be something that can't be ignored. change is coming, but trying to get the best deal we can is relative to what we do now . do the other states want to follow WA , or worse . minns is talking at capping gun ownership at 3 . FFS !

I don't want to create a generic reply people have their own style with writing i like a bit of individuality so do it your way :drinks: .

We should point out

Tony Burke deported a white neo nazi from South Africa within 3 days of attending a rally outside of parliament house they have the power to deport people why are they not doing this more often with other hate preachers?

Saudis UAE Egypt etc have all banned the muslim brotherhood and all its branches as terrorist groups when are we going to follow the example from these Islamic countries that understand the root cause of Islamic terrorism?
Did anyone call the Saudis UAE Egypt etc Islamophobes for doing this?

Hizb Ut Tahrir which Albo has indicated will be banned was banned a long time ago in numerous Islamic countries why have they let that group preach a type of Islam here that is not tolerated in Islamic countries?

Saudis UAE Egypt etc have all declared Hamas are muslim brotherhood terrorists our government lists Hamas as terrorists why have you allowed supporters of these terrorists to march for over 2 years in our streets when Saudis UAE and Egypt have zero tolerance for this?
( Chants of river to the sea= elimination of Israel, Death to the IDF = elimination of those trying to prevent elimination of Israel, Globalise the Intifada= it's not about Israel it's about Jews all around the world)

Fatwa saying Hamas and ISIS are 2 sides of same coin take note of charge 14, include link.
https://fatwacouncil.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/English-Resolution-Document-of-Fatwa-No.-F02301-compressed.pdf

Banning recreational shooters will not address the problem of Islamic extremism.
Recreational hunters can only shoot non native feral pests which protects our vulnerable native species these feral pests are estimated to cost agriculture millions of dollars
Target shooting is an Olympic sport Australia has won numerous Gold medals in.

Everyone can see the problem is our government being asleep at the helm with the problem of Islamic extremism which resulted in Bondi massacre with our Jewish community.

This picture is found in Fatwa i linked might be better to take screenshot of original so it doesn't appear it came from same source being highlighted.

I should remind people the vast majority of our muslims did not attend these pro hamas rallies a significant number did hopefully ASIO might have their pics.

Here is a video with UAE foreign minister.

I like how he says to reporter "i know you have translator i will say it in English so you get it right"

"Ëurope will see an increase in radicals extremists and terrorists coming out of Europe because of a lack of decision making, trying to be politicially correct or assuming they know the Middle east and Islam far better than we do which is pure ignorance"

Looks like Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed nailed it with all 3 points with western leaders.

Well, I've emailed my local member. Stayed short in the hope it will be read. Very hard not to write 2000 words on the ignorance and nonsense we are seeing.

Don't see why I cant contact every politician in the country. If every state is rushing ill thought out legislation based on ideas from movies and guesses then I have a problem with the waste, inefficiency, imposition and cost to our country and its people.

If hunting is banned then how are remote communities feeding themselves. Cost of living crisis and now cheap meat is out the window.

Rant rant.

good work mate , keep it up . just remember to keep things simple and to the point when talking to non shooters, non-hunters, as they live in a different world and don't understand . cheers

I sent a "Form Letter" ( obtained from the S U website ),to mine a few days ago. This afternoon they mailed me, asking for my address. Perhaps they only want to see if I really am a constituent but I am surprised that it was not included in my form letter, if it was important. I tried to check on the SU site a minute ago but their site had gremlins.
Just something to keep in mind :)

That's a bit of a worry. I imagine emails may be used to justify a not fit and proper person type attack on licence holders.

Particularly any with too much carry on or abuse.

However, despite my reservations I have handed over my address as required when using the federal MP contact channels.

I see federal MPs shirking responsibility for forcing laws to the states....even though Feds are pushing national buyback/confiscation.
