We have a government destroying historical relics.
Book burnings are just around corner.
Doesn’t really inspire much confidence in that government.
Things can go from bad to worse very quickly when the wrong people are in command.

Will be an interesting year.
Destroying historical relics is rather ineffective in combatting terrorism. How this hurts Isis, only you know mr MInns.
Would suggest a mental health check.

Winchester 1873. The rifle that tamed a continent. And you would press it into a cube.
Such brutish ignorance.

They will have to make some allowances in the Regulations as there would be hundreds of 1873 lever actions in NSW as the Uberti copy would be the most popular rifle in Single Action shooting. The 357 model even in carbine form can hold more than 10 .357 rounds and even more in 38 special.

This would also mean other competitors from Qld or Vic wouldn't be able to attend NSW single action matches.

I still haven't found anything modern that has belt fed ammunition. :unknown: What a knob.

They’re not making allowances. They don’t care.

That would seem over the top as even WA made an allowance that all factory lever actions can be more than 10 and all mine are currently relicenced under the new Act.

I hope so too.
Colt lightning replica still on my bucket list.

Some sort of caveat for historical replicas would be welcome.
The lightening was 1874.
I can get where they’re coming from banning scary modern pump actions. Don’t agree with it but can see their reasoning from their perspective.
But 19th century rifles. That’s just heresy. It’s not centrist. It radical politically.
Which means, it’s not democratic.

I think the greens abstained in part at least, so these changes could be viewed as centrist. Majority approval.

There was a case here in the local paper about 6 or 7 years ago where a local tavern had a 120 year old Henry 44 rimfire rifle in a glass case which originally belonged to the owners great grandfather in the gold rush days.
NSW Police turned up out of the blue confiscated it - this is despite it taking "no longer commercially available", and despite NSW already having specific permits for family heirlooms.

A Colt lightning or IMI Timberwolf has been on my bucket list too, Pedersoli just started making lightning replicas last year (two versions).

Haven’t seen a Timberwolf turn up in a long time.
People ask 3k plus for them. Collectors item now.
There was a stainless version but I don’t know if any landed here.

Yes the pedersoli if funds ever permitted was something I really wanted :)

But looking now , there’s something new, the Jackal in 44 mag.

And dammit why do I do this to myself https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=E60AuAaFkvM

The guy I bought my .44-40 Pietta's and Uberti 1866 off had a Lightning he was selling, as well as an Uberti Henry Rifle, I can ask if he still has them.

:unknown: The new legislation in NSW is difficult to interpret.
Because it doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.
But it states high capacity magazines will be reduced to 5-10 rounds.
It is unclear whether this relates only to belt fed firearms.

Well NSW has stopped issuing PTA’s in preparation for the new legislation to come into effect so nobody in NSW will be getting one anytime soon.
Probably never on a class B licence unless the high court challenge works.

I saw something a few days ago saying that they had restarted doing permits and licences.
