Unreal isn't it.
Interesting array of firearms the kids carry these days.
One of them looks like a homemade sub machine gun

As an aside, the person that wrote the article needs to go back to school and learn english.

3D printing is becoming more prevalent. Big problem in the US and now we're seeing it here. So much so over there, that they're talking about making the 3D printer manufacturers modify their firmware as to prevent Johnny downloading a schematic off the internet and making an AR.

Doomed to fail. Fortunately, saner heads have prevailed and have talked them out of it.

I have a 3D printer and print stuff like snap caps, ammo boxes, pistol holders etc. Bling for the safe and the range kit.
Printing the polymer stock is easy, the filaments have come a long way over the last decade and apparently you can print a decent stock. Plenty of vid on youtube showing you how.
But you still need the action, barrel and the metal parts. Something which is assessable in the US via an internet website order. No paperwork required. Johnny grabs his mums credit card and mail orders the kit for under $300. Little Johnny has a 9mm and packs it in his lunch box to scare the school yard bully.

I think we're going to see them more and more in the hands of crims. And of course that will have repercussions for us LAFO when little Joe turns up to school with one.

Why do they feel the need to say ar15 semi-automatic? And automatic pistols?

Okay automatic pistols is somewhat rare I am assuming it is a glock 18 or a glock switch but It is assumed an ar15 action is semi automatic.

Who cares what the action is? Its like a buzzword describing the action.

Because everyone knows an ar15 is a long armed full semi auto beef fed shotgun.

This one is my favourite.

And this is a sten gun.

And yes I know that autocorrected to beef fed.
But I left it like that because i liked it better.

yeah , saw this one this morning. cops have been busy , why couldn't this sort of enthusiasm been shown before bondi ? shootings by crims at one another in the MSM definitely fuels anti gun sentiment and ideology with the general population . makes you wonder what else is out there in the possession of crims .hand grenades , RPG's maybe ? we have a lot of people migrate to this country that have relatives that can get their hands on some pretty serious hardware back in their country of origin , and our northern coastline is hard to police . saw in the other article 2 ballistic vests with QLD police printed on them were also seized . and in the publics mind LAFO's are linked by association of possessing firearms to these scumbags. the more off the crims the cops lock up for illegal firearms the better.

I reckon it's all just more deliberate sensationalism BS, the media just shoring up more reasons to blame us for crims.
You cannpt get fire-control groups, barrels, slides, mags etc without a pistol license anyway, so all of this is just illegally imported just like complete handguns are.
Just another reason to vilify us, any way they can to get hits.

well it's being reported as illegal firearms in the hands of criminals . it's important they made the distinction , and it shores up that the bulk of shootings in the media are related to crims and illegal firearms . at least that's my take
