Depends on the interest paid on the loan vs the rate of inflation.

Sometimes it is better to pay the interest than lose purchasing power due to inflation.

that's how i was raised. some of the younger generation are in so much debt cause they want all the flash cars and houses straight away . they end up being wage slaves , in a financially risky position . a weekend injury that prevents them from working for a few months and it all falls down like a house of cards . i seen it happen .

Same here mate. Oldies came here with two suitcases, and worked their butts off to own everything.
They weren't lured by the huge homes, flashy consumer goods that don't do anything to make a better person.
They instilled that in me subconsciously I reckon.
We own everything we have from hard work and don't buy anything extra unless we can miss the money.

But we came from different times, the world is a different place, run in a way to keep people subservient using the threat of money, not character, to determine a person.
