PM seperates Gun laws and Hate Speech from bill

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will split his controversial Bondi Bill to ensure new gun laws pass through parliament, after it was made clear the Greens and Coalition would not support proposed changes to hate speech laws.

Mr Albanese announced the change in a snap press conference called after it was known gun laws could pass when parliament is recalled next week, but not if they were attached to the rest of the omnibus bill, which previously included legislation around hate crimes and racial vilification.

Speaking on Saturday afternoon, the Prime Minister said he would abandon the racial vilification provisions of the proposed legislation entirely, and separate the proposed changes to gun laws from the rest of the remaining Bill.

“We will not be proceeding with the racial vilification provisions because it’s clear that that will not have support,” he said.

In essence saying that he's confident that the gun laws will pass as the Greens and Libs will vote them up, I presume as an agreement to drop the racial vilification laws.
Albo has played us like a fiddle.

While it was an Omni Bill we had a chance now that it's not we are well and truly screwed because lately all the oppositions been talking about is the hate speech laws couldn't care less about the gun laws so they'll go for it and get it because on the gun laws they have the greens backing now

So I will post a form letter that you can all sign as well.
It was sent to me today by both "The Barn" and "Gun World Aus".
You can edit the text.

My suggestion is, because they all know the facts of why by now,
Just say - that if the LNP, or any Coalition member, supports any extra restrictions on Australia's gun laws by agreeing to Albanese's deliberate focus on Australians, WE WILL WALK to One Nation,
And NEVER vote for the LNP, the Nationals, or Liberals, EVER AGAIN.
Even if you won't, or don't understand why you must, that this is your last chance..
They are sh*tscared of this, because it will render them into extinction if we all really stepped up.
That's all they GAF about.
Their gravy train.

Thanks for that info Rich, I think I've worked it out.
That was sent to me personally, and I tried it with any other electorate and in my case, I can only bring my electorate up. Which is Southern Downs.
So for my name, or using my wife's name, that electorate only comes up.

So might work strangely with other names, if your email isn't listed with the companies sending it to you, in my case, The Barn and Gunworld, both whom I buy quite a bit of stuff here for the business online.
My bad most likely.

It worked for me (also in the Southern Downs)

The government’s firearm legislation has passed parliament, receiving the support of the teals in the House of Representatives and the Greens in the Senate. All proposed amendments were blocked in the Senate, and the bill will now become law after receiving royal assent.

Has anybody got a list of what the actual laws are that this moron has brought in I've heard all sorts of rumours that if it passes without any amendments you can't look up load data on the net you can't handload anymore and that he was banning the importation of all handguns .
I would have sort that would have been the first thing that the SSAA and all other organisations would have done at least people would know exactly what they were fighting against

I believe the reloading/internet lookup was changed. They just added lawful reason or something like that. Same as the WA legislation.

Updates from organisations are mostly videos, Youtube, facebook etc SSAA, Shooters Union etc
They were working on submissions and responses as the bloody government drafts were constantly changing and time for response extremely short.

We're screwed. Pistol shooting is my passion and i cycle pistols twice a year to try new ones and experience new tech.
Might have to take up another hobby. Gutted.

I really thought some of these provisions would have been dropped or even relaxed.

Yeah the nationals threw shooters under the bus in 1996 but looks like they are not now.

Looks like some of the better, more Australian-first proven Nats might do just that, from what happened during yesterday's vote.
At least, I'm hoping it will. Maybe sweep up a few more into One Nation.
Not sure where they will find the money to pay their salaries though, people like to say they support the party but not many stump up and pay to become a member, and fund better representatives.
I know first hand that when you stick your neck out for what you believe is right, not just for you but for others too, you have had to fund it yourself because the money just isn't there.
The big parties just LOVE that, in fact have deliberately skewed it so they have the money and anyone in the duopoly does not.
One Nation only survive on donations and membership funds.

Yes, me too.
And I also had a very sensible and logical reply from the Queensland minister for police and emergency services Dan Purdie.

Yes I will email David too and thank him.

What a world. I am thanking a liberal for helping gun owners.

Queensland liberal party is more conservative than on the federal level. I guess because we have a lot of patriots in rural areas.
