Labor/Queens know how to do it,.. I've heard Customs have seized all imports that have reached on-shore, for now anyway.
I hear there will be more discussions about what will in the future be let in, and what will be destroyed.
This is the worst thing they could do to us, and typical of everything I have expected.

more talking at gun shops , apparently , so i bin told, their going back to the system from years ago , where they have to put in a permit itemising everything in each individual shipping container and parcel . the current system is different and more "open". so i bin told ;)

at the moment customs and other departments aren't sure what to do as there's no transition period, it's been dumped on everybody overnight . so i've read ...

make of this what you want . this is just the current scuttlebutt i've found out through talking to people

He is buying himself a REVOLT on a grand scale, and i wouldn’t be at all surprised if it turns out to be a NON peaceful one.

well , i don't advocate for this sort of behaviour , but some middle eastern sounding fella is currently been charged with threatening to shoot him , on facebook i think .

after all the support the left has given gaza rallies wouldn't it be ironic if he got taken out by a radical islamist :P

cop says "albo , who did it ?" .albo replies, "sorry i can't say radical islamist...."

MagnumSports are a bit of a alarmist. Id say they have old stock they need to sell. :)

Well looking at the behaviour and lack of integrity from the SSAA since 1986 I would take anything they say with a truckload of salt

well , talking to more gun shop staff this morning. the new system is going to make customs workload increase to the point of ridiculous. so got told this morning that a certain big importer has a shipment of 500 rifles on the way , under the new law , instead of one permit for the shipment, they have to resubmit permits for each individual rifle . importing a shipment of 50 barrels , need a permit for each one . they weren't sure how this applies to accessories yet . what a utter cluster f@ck . apparently all the glocks at the importer sold out overnight . interesting times is a understatement, expect long delays on anything imported

this is what i bin told , so grain of salt applies :unknown:

So who else is currently in Canberra actually having meetings with Ministers and getting changes to proposed Legislation? I have friends who are involved with importing for major manufacturers and distributors who tell me imports are absolutely not banned at all, but the Permit scheme they operate under has changed and there will be some delays while they catch up. New stock will cost more due to the increased workload of Regulatory changes but there is no ban. As for BF, they have not "seized" anything, but due to the rushed nature of the Gumbiments changes many shipments are on hold while they work out how the Permit scheme needs to be implemented as they have no better information on what they are supposed to do than the importers have. At the moment it is a cluster-f**k but it will be sorted. Just remember, there are no bans on all imports.

That's what I've heard as well. While things are in flux, expect some delays in importation that are in flight \ transit while they work out the new process going forward.
I've also heard that personal imports using B709 forms will be a thing of the past as local State authorities are relinquished from that responsibility and the Feds will take that on via the Attorney Generals Office. I would imagine you would have to jump through hoops to get an import permit from the AG, let alone the cost and delay.

I'm not happy with that at all. Because as sport pistol shooters buying 6 - 8 mags in Australia would cost the same price as the handgun itself. Whereas I used to buy my genuine magazines for a third of the price overseas. Removing that ability, would have the importers and seller network charging as much as they like.

It's like it or lump it.

If the importers \ dealers had us over the barrel before, this is going to be 10x worse. It will become a monopoly carved out by the 3 major importers in cahoots with each other fixing prices. Because each of them have brand exclusivity.

Grey importers like Cleavers will get hit very hard and I wont be surprised they stop they side importation cause it's plainly not worth the cost and overhead.

MY last purchase was a CZ P10F from cleavers for $600. I priced the mags and they wanted $180 AUD for a CZ P10F magazine here, costs $39USD here shipped.
