Why do the voters place such inexperienced, incompetent, self-interested nothings in power, and not have the brains to realise it is THEM that cause their own suffering.

It's kind of like Catch 22.
Anybody who wants to be a politician shouldn't be allowed to be a politician.
This was understood by the ancient Greek philosophers.
But even then an individual with the right mix of narcissism, sociopathy and psychopathy with a measure of histrionic personality disorder will still slip through.

i'll play devils advocate here , i hear there's a fish and chip shop owner from ipswich QLD who's gotten into politics sorry , i couldn't help pointing that out after watching the vid on the link

but hang on , even running a fish and chip shop has more practical skills than a bachelor of arts ! oh what a world we live in

Think about it....
For all the excuses, bullsh*t reasons why it's hopeless, everyone's the same blah blah...
It's the voters that install the incompetence.
Or is it the incompetent installing the incompetence?
At any rate, it's the voters. Because the system is completely manipulative in our favour too. Numbers.
