I just read the details of this scumbag McKeown's sentencing after what he did to his German Shepherd Arnie.
Left locked up in the back ute compartment without food or water until he died from heat, stress, and dehydration while he (McKeown) attended bars and partaking of drugs.
The court was told that it took up to 72 hours before Arnie died.

This lowlife scumbag was sentenced to only 240 hours of community service and disqualified from driving for only 8 months.

In my way of thinking he should have been sentenced to endure the same treatment that Arnie died from,, and then doubled due to the fact that he knew what he was doing to the poor dog.

I agree 100%.
But the government that the people like him decided to put in power have made me unable to describe what I would do with him if given carte blanche.
Free speech isn't allowed, up to 15 years jail for offending some leaky arsehole's feelings but 240 hours community service for that sickening act?
Absolutely proves our communities point that the reason Australia has descended into this state of parlour is that people are not punished adequately anymore.
It's not the guns, the cars being used to run over people deliberately, the one-punch hits on people just out with their girlfriends, and a million other examples.
It's the pathetic politicians and judges no doing their jobs.
No reciprocative punishment, no reason to stop and think first.
Take the pathetic excuse for a human being you have just mentioned. What reason is there for him to continue basically stealing resources off the rest of the community to continue on this planet?

Hey, I've got an idea for the dribbling politicians.
Make it mandatory to show you're a fit-and-proper person with no criminal history and basically prove you are capable of properly handling and caring for ANY pet. A "pet" license.
I mean, it works with firearms doesn't it?
Stop people with screws loose from using guns in crime?
