ADA Recreational Hunting Survey

Post by bladeracer » 11 Feb 2026, 8:58 am

I didn't see this one posted here yet.

From Australian Deer Association:

Hi,
Recreational hunting plays an important role in Victoria's regional economies — and now there's a chance to make sure that contribution is properly measured.

The Australian Deer Association has been closely involved in advocating for updated research into the economic contribution of recreational hunting in Victoria, and we're pleased to see this new study now underway.

The survey is being conducted independently by BDO and Action Market Research, on behalf of the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR).

We strongly encourage members to take part and ensure hunters are well represented in the data that will help inform future policy and decision-making.

Survey details

Takes approximately 15–20 minutes

Open until Sunday 8 March

Survey link (available from Wednesday 11 February):

https://actionsurveys.au/index.php/684960?newtest=Y&lang=en

Your participation genuinely matters. Strong engagement from the hunting community helps ensure our social, environmental, and economic contributions are recognised and understood.

Thank you for supporting this important work and for continuing to represent hunting responsibly across Victoria.

Sincerely,

Sean Kilkenny

Covered a wide gamut of areas. From travelling to personal exertions like finance, time. Picked up on demographic, locations, travel details with a angle into, I presuppose, tourism and money distribution from say suburbs to rural areas. Local $$ revenue.

A proper survey and that should light on managers pie and baragraph charts and columns about this having a significant $$$$ on the states coffers, money jars.

Well F@ck me with a big rough stick. :wtf:

Unless your hunting in Vic for Deer, Waterfowl, or non indigenous bird species at a specific venue, they don't want your information, so don't
waste your time.

I have hunted in Victoria several times in the last 18 mths (prior to their latest wild dog legislation) at the express invitation of several landowners, for
feral/wild dogs. So it was a total waste of time me filling out the survey.

Well i tried. But only got part way through filling it in, and they cut me off at the knees with a pop up saying they didn’t require my input. (words to that effect)

This is mainly for game species and a particular emphasis on public land hunting.
