It really is a slippery slope.
Look at how the Canadians are describing the Ruger #1. Sorry, I've maligned the general population. It's actually the pollies that dream this sh!t up.

Since when have they had to answer for gun bans? Especially in the UK and Canada? Canadians bear some responsibility here. They went in wide awake to the polling places and voted for this. Trudeau just because he was young dashing and handsome and because of his name. They believed him when he said that it was not about banning guns for hunting and recreation, just about keeping people "safe". They voted for the Government to keep them safe and they will do so, down the very last gun in existence. Not sure how on earth these are the same shared Canadian DNA who took on the SS Panzer Divisions at Normandy.
When they start banning airsoft you know they have gone completely off their rocker.
We have a general saying here in the US about the extreme Left and their slippery slope policies. 1.They deny over and over again that it's happening, 2.They concede that it might be happening but that it's very benign, rare, revenue neutral, and/or the fault of conservatives, 3.They admit that it's happening, admit to "higher costs than anticipated", and assert that it's a good thing, and then blame conservatives for incessantly complaining about it, and for it's failure. 4 Repeat ad infinitum.

from what i've heard , the left have wrecked canada, and the provinces are politically divided . at the moment things seem increasingly polarised in australia between the left and the right politically . the left are definitely off their rocker alright , they don't let facts or common sense get in the way of anti gun policy .it's being called out publicly by civil rights experts and members of the legal system that "hate laws" pushed through by labour in 48 hours are ill conceived and thought out . i think there'll be more on this publicly .
i'm lucky the state i live in , queensland , has some very active conservative politicians from minor parties that are sticking up for gun ownership and people that live in the bush . we haven't been subjected to the draconian gun laws in other states that punish the law abiding , but do nothing to prevent criminal acts . i've noticed a shift over the years in that city people are increasingly ignorant of the reality of living/working out bush, and the need for firearms as a tool as well as the cultural activity of hunting . they fall for the propaganda of the slick shiny suited politicians who prey on the publics fears every time criminals shoot one another . and these voters are being duped into supporting gun restrictions that don't work in there intended purpose . i think there has to be a push to inform the city/suburban public of the truth about gun ownership in australia . the attitude is very different now to what it was 40 years ago when i was a teenager . i've been saying for years we need a NRA type organisation in australia to actively lobby politically and legally for gun owners rights . the one issue is gun ownership is seen as a "privilage" , there's nothing that guarantees gun ownership in australia like the american constitution

It's a constant battle here in the US as well, although we are light years ahead of Canada and Australia in terms of being able to fight the whack jobs.. The Left will never quit as you well know. Gun ownership here is a fundamental right under our Constitution and we have a couple of recent Supreme Court decisions backing that up. We also have a long and storied gun culture. Despite what many have probably heard from their propaganda media, the US is not the "wild west". Almost all of our gun violence is in major metropolitan areas. Half of the counties in the entire USA have zero murders per year. We don't have a gun violence problem, we have an inner city crime problem. In addition, much of the "gun violence" being mentioned by our media and anti-gun advocates are from suicides, which have no direct coorelation to gun ownership.
The NRA is unfortunately on life support. The leadership were misbehaving badly for about a decade and treating membership fees like their own personal slush fund. Other groups such as Gun Owners of America have stepped up and are responsible for a lot of the rabid defenses of our rights at this time. The NRA was very strong and effective for over 30 years so yes having them in our corner during all the gun ban nonsense was very beneficial.
When I was a kid in the 60's and 70's you could walk into a gun store or large merchandise chain store and buy a rifle or shotgun with no background check or anything. Just cash and you walk out. Sears Catalogs had guns for sale and would deliver to your door. Something has changed. But it's not the guns. It's society. I can still strap a pistol to my hip and walk around in public legally as a free American, but there are many here who absolutely hate freedom and national sovereignty, Freedom of speech, association, religion, freedom of movement, property rights, gun rights, privacy, economic freedom etc etc. and they overwhelmingly reside in our Democratic Party. From the perspective of normal Americans, Donald Trump is truly our savior at this moment although he's far from perfect..
Yes Pennsylvania is one of our founding states. One of the original 13 colonies. I am fortunate to be able to live here and walk some of the same ground as did George Washington.
