2206H is very good, I get velocities up there with the best of the speeds I hear 223's can achieve. We use 3 here, and all are 20" barrels, not 22 or 24.
So I'm not going to go on any powder treasure hunt, especially too because it's my accuracy powder in 308 too. And fast.
I do hear about these "special blends" for factory ammo. I don't believe it in Australia at all. That's not a shot at anyone, so nothing personal. The market here is too small IMHO and Aussies dont usuallyf**k about if they dont have to.
Yeah I know about Defence production, but remember the stories about the original 2206 being used in the 144gn 7.62 ammo? It was available for us too.
A bloke local has a 223 autoloader for PP, and his pet load is 24gn 2206H with Superroos, Vmaxs and Blitzkings. Another reason why I wonder the point of "special blends". But stranger things eh?
