Well instead of stating the obvious, spend your effort letting the politicians know what you want instead.

I noticed the petition clearly states semi auto 22 rimfire.

The UK is like this. Only 22 semiauto rimfire can be owned. Not 17hmr or wsm or any other rimfire calibre.

Granted 95% of semi auto rimfires are 22 but still. Change the law to semi auto rimfire not semi auto 22 rimfire.

Exactly! Thats why its best to set up a meeting with your local MP. Bring a folder of information and talk to him and explain.

Because the admin just file your email away.

Yeah I understand all your doubts that any of this does any good, or the finer points of everything, but remember this please...
Right now, all politicians are watching every poll and every opinion, especially regarding firearms laws and knee-jerking politicians crashing the economy.
This poll, and all the others, are watched, don't you ever think they are ignored.
A narcissist politician ignores publicly, but the results of polls, they use to see the sentiments moving against their cluysterf*ck leadership failings..

They may not do exactly what we want, or need, but they are made bloody well aware of whether or not they are going to see a big punch in the face at the next election, and their gravy trains, because these things get legs and spread into other areas and other voter demographics.
And if you do nothing, they carry on with their belittling of us.
