NDIS looks after so many deserving people, individuals in a terrible spot nobody ever asked to be.
Unfortunately though mate, criminals spot places they can get away with scams and when the system is run by public servants without (so far) any performance measures like private business, this is taken advantage of.
The crims, and not just the imported grubs taking advantage of the systems generosity, can con the system so easily, because the people who seem to be rubber stamping all this are just not checking what is fraudulent.
And yet, so many deserving people are being turned away while the scammers keep winning!

Talk to the builders here about trying to get another home built as we are, we've spoken to so many who are engaged full time now modifying homes for the perpetually "disadvantaged", never any dramas keeping the invoices paid, accepting crazy quotes and accepting then seemingly without argument.
The fault lies with the overseers. People will always stop and pick up that $100 note just lying on the footpath and pocket it when nobody is looking on.
"The only way to avoid criticism is to do nothing, say nothing, and be nothing."
Aristotle.

My 33 year old son is a recipient of NDIS funding and has been since it's inception. It has taken years and years to navigate to gain the best outcomes for him, so we are well versed in what evidence is required to validate our requests and it amazes and infuriates me when these scammers just seem to get away with whatever they want! It's almost as though thorough checks and balances are only applied to some and not all.

From what I’ve seen on ndis, it seems the people who really need it struggle to get it , and the low life’s who want to rort the system seem to have no problems . Where is the oversight on the system from the public servants ?

I would say, along with thousands of others, that Andrew Bolt has far more credibility in most opinions than you would ever have.

To me, it doesn't matter what the activity is, if there is taxpayer money to rort, there will be people lining up to do so. Be NDIS, Child Care, Medicare, solar & batteries.
They will all be lined up.

yeah , there always seems to be some debacle where taxpayer funds are being rorted . i had my roof insulated with polyester bats during that scheme . in theory it was a good idea , but lack of oversight allowed it to be exploited . my house isn't that big , the cost quoted to me by the insulator was a little over $1000. the full rebate was $1500 i think . so guess what, they contacted me a week later and said due to supply and demand issues the cost had gone up , to just under $1500. so no money out of pocket for me , but a nice "bonus" for the insulation company at the expense of the australian taxpayer .

from what i've seen , some of the criminals exploiting ndis are getting millions personally . there's a guy in qld who had exotic sports cars seized by police just a couple of years ago after being caught for ndis fraud . taxpayer money being exploited like this is a national disgrace

If ever one of those ndis companies approach me to work for them I don’t just decline. I give them a blast. Criminal organisation I want nothing to do with them.
