New law - Lending firearms increased from 3 to 6 months

Post by alexjones » 30 Mar 2026, 9:30 pm

They changed the Weapons Act section 35(6C)

You can now lend or borrow guns for 6 months without needing a PTA. It use to be 3 months.

Weird this slipped in or has not been mentioned by shooter union. I just noticed it because I am lending out a rifle and my mate thought you need a PTA but I told him no you can have it for 3 months without a PTA so long as you are suitably licensed.

So this can be considered a win. Not often a law gets “laxed”.

Would also be a good fix if they stopped using the word WEAPON.

Yeah but it was even called that back in 1990 when QLD along with TAS had the best laws in the federation.

The weapons act contains all sorts of things that are not firearms. Gas, grenades, blades etc

Be an armourer. Armourers don't need PTAs either. :)

They can buy all the grenades they want if they can find them. :)

Semantics mate.
To politicians forever more, firearms will always be weapons.
Demonising and scaremongering are essential for politics; common sense is nonexistent in activist culture.

Thank f**k we threw out that neanderthal Miles at the last election. We'd be like NSW now, run by inner-city leftist union cockpits.

Agree, I'da thought unionists would be down-to-earth working class blokes that'd hunt... Just like I was. I was a MWU delegate once, but I believed in the old system, work to make the boss's business viable and do a good job on time, and on agreement he'd up your pay and you'd have the security of work to buy a home and not struggle too hard in this crooked society.
But I was wrong... It's morphed to a billion-dollar rort that has crushed workers and driven manufacturing to China.

Miles was a professional sh*tstirrer, having had a "public relations" pretend business advising people how to manipulate and take from the businesses they worked for. Another person with a pointless university Arts degree that does not lead to ANY worthwhile leadership or financial/organisational/ abilities. But he became a union official, then did a PHD in the "Trade Union" which gives him the right to put "Doctor" in front of his name. He switched to Labor Left after failing a preselection in his electorate and becoming bitter in everything other than climbing the ladder without ability or hard work.
Imagine that pointless kind of monster deciding what you or I do?
And yet here he is, the expert, leading a mob of communists that want to take your guns away, worse than WA, because socialist doctrine demands people be disarmed so that they cannot resist the movement. Under the lie of "public safety."

We dodged a bullet here, no pun intended, that the people saw this happening and saw through this useless, self-indulgent fake and the rabble before him.
