Hello Madang55
In my 204 I only use the Sierra Blitzking. I have done my load development with the 39gr. I do have some 32gr Sierra Blitzking I haven’t got around to doing any load development for.
Before settling for the Sierra 39gr Blitzking, I did a fair bit of research and noticed the Hornady 40gr V-Max were not highly regarded as they had issues. (This was outlined in some articles I read and some forums where shooters mentioned problems)
In other calibres I use, such as my 223, I load and use the Hornady 55gr V-max. I find it to be very accurate and devastating on thin skinned varmints.
I picked the Hornady V-Max as it was what my local gun shop had at the time. (Cleaver firearms sometimes has good specials on these projectiles. I bought enough to last for a long time)
I have also taken small to medium pigs with it at closer ranges, (I do recommend using a larger calibre for pigs).
I also have used the Sierra Blitzkings in my 223 and also find them very accurate and devastating on thin skinned varmints.
In the 204, I haven’t had any issues with the Sierra 39gr Blitzkings.
