.30-30 .224" wildcat?

Post by bladeracer » 21 May 2026, 6:28 pm

Picked up a big bundle of various ammo again yesterday.
Got some wildcatted .30-30 brass necked down to .224" with a long shoulder. Anybody know what it is?
Case length is 1.940".
.30-30 brass on left, .30-30/.22 on right.

I'm only familiar with the one that blows the shoulder forward quite a bit

I did see the .30-30/22 Ackley but this definitely isn't that one :-)
I feel like I should know it but I can't come up with it.
Only about a dozen cases and no loaded ammo.

Likely 30-30 reformed to a 219 Zipper.
Are you sure you measured case length correctly because you seem to be about an inch too long.
