hey fellas, i was given a heads up on this bit of news by DJ and it sounded like a worthy topic

https://au.news.yahoo.com/aussie-island ... 52999.html

the next article after this one about a shocked tourist complaining about culled dingos being strung up makes for a bit of a controversial topic

Interesting that bait feeder design, shame I can't see what's above the star pickets, I assume it's a cheap way of holding up some sort of roof / rain cover/ sun cover to stop the trap door becoming cooking-hot and destroying the baits?
Interesting that the claim is made that the bait is what finished them off, after the fires. Also surprising is that those trying to eradicate the pigs jumped at the opportunity after the fires, smart and quick thinking there.

On the dingos hanging from the trees, I can completely understand how it shocks tourists seeing dogs hanging from fences and trees. I get it, we must remember that if we weren't exposed to what we are, we would be too. This is the way of the people who shape opinions against us.
Disrespecting an animals body by hanging it up is a strange thing to say. The animal is dead.
But we all recoil in horror when we see humans bodies being dragged through the streets by religious neanderthals either. Remember Mogadishu?

But the old myth about hanging a dog up is a warning to others it scares them off, that's BS as usual.
I've used a trapped dingo's body propped up on a log to bring in it's mate (or those unrelated coming up for a sniff and look) to a waiting trap on the trail up to it. It doesn't scare them off, not most of the time.
But I have seen exceptions to that rule too, in the matriarchs who won't approach anything even slightly out of the norm. My cameras told me that.

It is interesting always to see these different opinions in the MSM, we should be all learning from this about how they think and what is the real agenda. Know your enemy, and they are.

I don't know about other countries, but it's been a traditional way in Aus for many many years.
Foxes in lines hanging on fences,, and dogs hung up under trees.

bloody tourists hey fellas ;) whether or not there's any deterrent in stringing then up , i doubt it . i was told by a tenterfeild local years ago they string them up to prove the culler is doing his job . maybe if you have a really productive trip DJ , find a pine tree and make a feral "X-MAS tree" instead of a angel put a fox on top ;) cheers
