Sportco 22lr magazine?

Post by Cape_Yorkee » 11 Aug 2026, 9:35 pm

Good evening all

Going through the back of the safe today I found a pack of my old man's 22lr magazines. I believe they are from a Sportco - model unknown.

Anyone shed some light on these? He had a semi auto Sportco at one stage but that's as much as I know. If someone knows these magazines, can they fit other Sportco models?

Type 1 magazines (metal follower) will fit all early models but not the 66D, 66S or Winchester 320. Type 2 mags (plastic follower, distinct angle at front of follower and mag body) for the later 66S, 66D and 320.

They look like stirling magazines to me. All the pictures of sportco magazines I can find have a flat metal plate on their base, where these do not. Attached are a couple of pictures of my stirling model 14 10rd 22lr magazine. (With added tactical anti rattle electrical tape)
