Queensland Firearms Storage

I have appropriate and fully legal storage for all my firearms and ammunition etc.
I want to travel around the country long term in the van with the wife. I could be gone for up to 12 months.
Does anyone know where I stand legally in terms of firearms storage?
I am not sure if I will have a house sitter etc staying in the house during this time, but of course they will have no access to the firearms or even to the room they are stored in.

I do recall a part of the act that says that if my firearms are to be stored in a safe in a separate building to the one I (the license holder) live in, I must be able to see it from where the premises I'm living in. Say, a special locked strongroom in a large shed.
So, in other words I have to be overlooking my storage.
If you were not there for an extended time, maybe you should give them a call about that one, get the relevant proof in the act that you aren't breaching any laws by being away. And what's acceptable during that time legal-wise.

My storage is part of the main building and is a steel bared room, camera inside and out, alarm, motion sensors etc. Then the sercurity starts inside.
But as you say I think I need to contact them in writing, especially how things have been recently.

The paperwork has already been filled out detailing the storage etc.

If I go away on holidays I am still responsible for them back at my registered address an the PTA.

From what you've said, you've got them pretty secure. As along as you're comfortable with that, and you know your sitters aren't nosey parkers, then you'll be okay.

You could always ask your local gunshop too.
