Yep, across the bonnet and partially through the windscreen, nice fallow buck, didnt quiet hit him as prefered at 3900fps with a 75grainer like the .243 , but instead a (91.13fps)

The may have been an extremely large bowl discharge at the point of impact more so for the mate next to me who virtually ended up nursing it

Had the same thing happen when a fox carrying a dead crow ran into my leg,,,, but NEVER a deer.
That guy could put that down as a true "once in a lifetime experience"

Had a similar experience earlier this year as Benny ,dropped to mates off to go into the paddock from the road after some big boars.I continued down the road and was coming up from the Oakey creek and was checking the time on the dash when I looked up there was Mr fallow stag right on the road bang and he was out!!Bugger he did a bit of damage but the bulbar took most of the brunt on the corner broke the light and indicator only, he climbed up and ran into the paddock and expired. They missed those pigs and you should have SEEN THE LOOK ON THEIR FACES WHEN THEY SAW THE STAG ON THE TAILGATE!!! PRICELESS

Well, Close Encounters of the CHITAL kind.

Was driving in Toowoomba today (skirting the edge, heading towards industrial area) and lo and behold, laying on the edge of the footpath was a Chital Deer that someone had obviously collided with.

I've never seen a Chital in the flesh before, only pics. But I saw it from both sides, and I reckon it certainly was a Chital.

I never would have expected to see one in suburbia, but there ya go.
