Cartridge comparison to get a size-to-bullet perspective of the cartridges I'll use - for the Woodleighs it will be the 300RUM and the 300 Win Mag, as I have stalking rifles in both. "Varminting" expectations are not a consideration here.
Others are just for comparison.
Hunting ranges of the walkabout sporting hunter pretty much top out at 200m.

Bertrams website is does not do that, merely says call for latest production runs etc and has a list of calibres but no weights, unless I'm missing something.
The Barn has always sold a whole triple shelf of great Bertram brass, even great stuff like 300 SAUM and RUM, and the bigger Weatherbys and British hunting greats. But not projectiles - a counter bloke there said they were too difficult to keep in stock...

A learned and experienced member here dropped me off some 150gn Bertram "protected point" style flat based .30 projies, which I haven't been able to load yet. If the come out OK I'd love to try some 180 or 200gn as well, love to support Aussie stuff if I can.
Protected-point style 130's would be great too, a-la Woodleighs.
I love Aussie Atomic-29 copper bullets, but cup & core bullets are always good performers on your average larger feral animals.

Does it have to Bertram bullets?
Gary Little of Little bullets makes a great product....

     The Remingtom Ultra Mags are great fun mate. That's what it's all about I reckon.
The 7mm SAUM is pretty popular with the long range blokes that know their stuff, but I like the .30 version, it's proven to be very consistent and easy to get an accurate load.

I haven't tried the Atomic 29 copper bullets in the RUM yet, oh for the time to do all of this stuff. Yes, what a great idea.

I was just thinking, an RPG warhead uses an explosive charge to drive the copper cone into the steel, the rocket itself is quite slow and uses the explosive charge to accelerate the copper cone, the copper collapses and forms a jet of the molten armour that holes that tank and sprays the inside with hot liquid metal.

Thanks maxjon, no it doesn't.
The Bertram bullets Rich donated got me even more fanatical about using Aussie stuff more if I can.
From there the Woodleighs came up.

I remember now. I used to read a lot about Gary Little's bullets years ago in many articles in the now extinct "Guns 'n Game" magazine that was written by a mob of farmers from Western NSW. That rings a bell from then anyway, I might be wrong. They were fair dinkum real bush shooters and had more credibility than the crap nowadays online who just push whatever gives the best freebies.

I will look that up, thank you for that tip.

Actually they just seem to be match bullets for the long-range target crowd.
I'm going to be using projectiles meant for live game.

It's worth a go mate, I will.

If anyone can help with other makers of Aussie bullets, please chip in.
