Yes, have handled one but not shot. When in London I visited Armalon. They have a tiny shop near Paddington however they have bought all the Parker Hale factory and machinery. They make new barrels for the SMLE, these re-worked enfields in 223, 30carbine, 9mm and another pistol calibre, maybe 44mag?

They also make a 1911 clone and bottom metal to fit SLR magazines to Rem 700 rifles. The pistol calibre bolt actions are for some specific type of competition in the UK.

They are very nicely made with a complete reworking of the bolt head and ejector, trigger. They are very expensive as a result.

I did not shoot but did play with action and dry fire the 9mm in the shop, very smooth bolt and crisp, creepless sporting rifle like trigger, completely unlike the military trigger.

Tbone gunsmiths bring the rifles and barrels into Australia.

Cock on close modification?

Instead of the bolt lift cocking the spring, the lift and pull of the bolt ejects the spent cartridge only.

The forward push when closing the bolt is what cocks the springs.

Supposed to be more stable as you're not putting energy into rotating the rifle in your grip with the bolt lift, and easier/faster as you've got better leverage on the spring during the bolt push.

I dunno about this being a "modification" though, I could be wrong but I thought all Lee-Enfield were cock on close?

I had the brick people on the phone at 11.00 saying they can't pick them up until Friday, I didn't get angry and simply said they are gone by 1.30 or I would water my lawn and I was sure they would get soaked through the wrapping.

The truck has just left.
