Bicarb soda for washing hunting clothes

Anyone got an opinion on washing your hunting clothes with bicarb soda?

It's the best way?

Better options?

Whatever you do you just don't want to be adding smells to your clothing.

A lot of guys just use straight water, bicarb might do a bit better job of cleaning still without adding the smell.

I'd say it's worth trying.

Use a sensitive washing powder (doesn't have fragrances added like regular washing powder). Use white vinegar in the fabric softener compartment - vinegar will help dissolve any residual washing powder.

Most of us old guys sleep in our hunting clothes so bad smells are just par for the course!!!!

Here's a tip as a bow hunter you might forget the bi carb and Just Hunt Down Wind of your game???? Just a thought

Seems to have worked for Thousands of years and we all know the old and tested methods normally bring the best results???

I've got three teens in the house that work at KFC and McDonalds, and their uniforms get washed with Bi-Carb (plus that stupid eco-crap soap powder) to get all the grease and stench out, especially their pants.

It's really good for getting all clothes (and linen) clean, especially if you get to line dry them as well.

For the uniforms, and anything else soiled and gross, we use 2 scoops of Bi-Carb with 1 scoop of soap powder. We buy the Bi-Carb in 20kgs bags from the grain store, and it works a treat!

Yeah I've used bi carb to get blood out of my hunting gear it works well. It will clean pretty much anything..

Mine just go in the way with the rest of the washing, I've had foxes stand right next to me so I guess the washing powder isn't that big a deal if they do that and its not the first time that's happened either.

I couldn't tell ya what the misses uses - that's her department only other thing I do at times is leave em out to air out for a few days - as someone said earlier if their smelling ya you might want to change cals

Smoke deer are at all afraid of smoke!!!! Smoking your clothes before hunting helps mask your sent????
