Wondering what peoples thoughts on the claims made for these bullets are, because I can't get my head around it.
The company that makes them is Compbullets (Maybe made them, their website is gone so maybe they've stopped).
The first claim is that the ported gas lubricates the bullet as it travels the length of the barrel. Dunno about that one?
Second is that the bullet works as a muzzle break as it exits.
This one makes no sense to me...
On a ported barrel or muzzle brake the bullet is blocking the muzzle for a moment stopping the gas from going forward so it can't push the rifle back, and it's redirect, that makes perfect sense.
On these those though it seems like it would just be puffing out a little of the gas from the sides as the bullet has all but left the muzzle already. Reckon these would really have any noticeable effect on recoil?
